Holiday Recipes

The holiday's  are near and I have the perfect recipes for you that aren't just delicious but simple to make.

Bacon cranberry Apple chopped pecan salad

This salad recipe so simple and easy to make.

Savor the taste of Fall with crisp apples, chopped pecans, tart cranberries and bacon on a bed of greens.

There's something about the crisp sweet taste from the apples that pairs so perfectly with the smokiness of the bacon that I love. The chopped pecans give a nutty maple syrup like taste with a little tartness from the cranberries, It's crispy, it's sweet and so flavorful the bacon just melts in your mouth!

You could even add some pomegranate seeds or butternut squash!

Drizzle on your favorite salad dressing and enjoy!

You didn't think I forgot about dessert now did you!?

Here's a scrumptious recipe for you that warms your soul!

Apple Crisp-

When there's a chill in the air that's when I know Fall has arrived.

This sweet dessert has comfort food written all over it it's got warm crunchy apples with the essence of cinnamon that warms you up on a chilly day.

Ingredients:

Apple mixture-
4-5 apples that are peeled and sliced (I used 8 small ones)
1-2 tablespoons of butter even coconut oil would work 3-4 tablespoons of maple syrup or even honey
One teaspoon of spice of choice I used cinnamon

Apple crumble topping-

One cup of almond flour I used tiger nut flour
One teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup of maple syrup or honey agave works too!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

While the oven is heating up its time to start coring and slicing your apples.

Then grab a pan and heat 1-2 tablespoons of butter or coconut butter whichever you prefer with 3-4 tablespoons of maple syrup with a teaspoon of nutmeg I used cinnamon and it came out just as delicious!

Your mouth is probably drooling from the exotic aroma of cinnamon and sweetness of maple syrup wafting through the air.

Let the apples sauté in the pan with the butter, maple syrup and spice of choice until they are soft yet firm.

This mixture is delicious alone let alone with a crispy crumble on top! It goes great on pancakes, oatmeal and even ice cream!

You'll notice that the syrup has thickened you'll then want to add the apples to a baking dish.

Take a small bowl and add your flour then drop in your cinnamon and your maple syrup then mix until well combined where it starts to get crumbly.

Add your crumble topping on the apples and bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until brown.

Then serve with a dollop of whip cream or top it off with your favorite ice cream!
